在申請大學時，學生需要用到中心化申請平臺，比如Common App、Coalition App、UC Application和Apply Texas，或者是學校自己的申請系統(tǒng)，比如麻省理工的MyMIT。在申請平臺上，學生需要填寫背景信息、學習成績、課外活動等等，然后這些材料會被提交給平臺內(nèi)的所有合作高校。Common App擁有900所合作高校，是最大的申請平臺，但也有一部分高校不使用Common App，比如以下這些：

排在Common App之后的第二大申請平臺就是Coalition App。在選校時，大家十有八九會要用到它們。

Coalition App有超過150所合作高校，而Common App有900多所。大部分Coalition App的合作學校也都支持Common App。它們之間的最大區(qū)別是，與Coalition App合作的都是大力資助貧困學生的大學。

如果不想用好幾個平臺申請大學，重復填寫各種基本信息的話，選Common App應該是比較穩(wěn)妥的。不過大家可以參考Coalition App的合作學校名單，尋找有獎學金的大學。

Coalition App的合作高校數(shù)量不算多，不過其中包括了大部分公立大學、大部分藤校、斯坦福、約翰霍普金斯大學、芝大和頂尖的文理學院，比如威廉姆斯、阿默斯特、韋爾斯利和鮑登。

最新的Common App成員

最近Common App又迎來了50多所新的合作高校。 這50個新成員中，名氣最響的當屬德州大學奧斯汀分校，它的工程和商科專業(yè)非常出名。德州農(nóng)工大學今年也新加入了Common App。多了這50所大學，也許接下來大家用Common App的時候會更覺得方便了。

申請平臺之間的區(qū)別

這些申請平臺的區(qū)別在哪里呢？從本質(zhì)上看，它們是一樣的——學生需要填寫背景信息、成績、課外活動并提交個人陳述，讓招生官更好地了解他們。它們的區(qū)別在于，有的學校只使用一個平臺，除此之外，回答字數(shù)的限制、文書題目、填寫的活動數(shù)量等方面也有不同要求。以下是這些平臺之間的主要區(qū)別。
